Suku Cinta Damai Tapi Musnah

Dulu ada suku Moriori di New Zealand. Suku ini mengembangkan filosofi cinta damai, namanya 'Nunuku's Law'. Tahun 1835, suku Maori menyerang suku Moriori. Suku Maori menuntut suku Morioiri untuk menyerah. Para tetua Moriori menolak berperang melawan para penyerang. Akhirnya suku Maori membunuh 10% populasi Moriori , memperbudak dan menghapus budaya lokal. Tahun 1862 tinggal 101 orang Moriori yang masih hidup.

Baterai Lithium Ion kadang-kadang terbakari dengan berbagai sebab. Memadamkan api kebakaran baterai lithium ion cukup sulit, karena dalam baterai tersebut sudah ada oksigen.

Ringkasan buku The End of The World is Just The Beginning

Ringkasan: Setelah PDD2, US adalah satu2nya negara dengan angkatan laut yg masih utuh. US bikin kebijakan: semua negara boleh berniaga dengan siapa saja, asal membantu USA menghadapi USSR. Keamanan transportasi dijamin USA. Sebelum PD2, negara industri mesti punya sumber energi, sumber pangan dan bahan mentah. Kalau kurang 1, mesti cari dari koloni. Setelah PD2, gak ada cerita koloni. Kalau perlu sumber daya beli saja gak usah koloni. So far so good sampai USSR runtuh di 1991. USA mulai males jadi polisi karena mahal. Jadi makin ke sini peran USA berkurang atau berubah bentuk.
Negara-negara yang selama ini mengandalkan perdagangan bebas & jaminan keamanan dari USA tentunya bakal terpengaruh. Bisa dibilang semua negara terperngaruh, kecuali yang punya sumber pangan, energi & bahan tambang.

Ada pendapat bahwa korupsi dapat diatasi dengan menaikkan gaji.

Yang bisa mengurangi korupsi itu bukan gaji, tapi probabilitas tertangkap. 

Katakan probabilitas tertangkap korupsi = p
net benefits korupsi = (1-p)*besarnya korupsi - p*(NPV gaji dan pensiun sampai mati yang hilang + derita penjara)
kalau p = 0, semua korupsi

 Di militer Rusia ada budaya menutup-nutupi masalah dengan berbohong. Mungkin mirip dengan istilah 'asal bapak senang' di Indonesia. Istilahnya dalam bahasa Rusia adalah 'vranyo'.
